Monochrome MFPs Are Here to Stay
    LYRA RESEARCH
Personal monochrome laser-based MFPs are frequently viewed as straddling the ink jet MFP and single-function monochrome laser printer markets. The direction of this market segment has long been uncertain. Would the proliferation of ink jet MFPs displace personal monochrome laser-based MFPs? Would the decline in hardware prices for monochrome laser printers and their copier/scanner/fax machine counterparts make device consolidation infeasible?
For a variety of reasons, monochrome laser MFPs appeal to business customers. Lyra expects the personal monochrome laser MFP market to experience strong growth in unit shipments and revenue in the coming years. New models from Brother, Dell, HP, Konica Minolta, Lexmark, and Samsung are raising the bar for this market segment. Lyra’s upcoming (free) Webcast, Black-and-White Answers: Why Monochrome MFPs Are Here to Stay, answers key questions about where this market segment is headed.
Black-and-White Answers: Why Monochrome MFPs Are Here to Stay will take place Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at 2 p.m. eastern daylight time. Ann Priede, managing editor of Lyra’s Hard Copy Observer, will discuss the personal monochrome laser MFP market and provide information from her new report, also entitled Black-and-White Answers: Why Monochrome MFPs are Here to Stay, which will be published in mid-September.
