United chief: No immediate plans for Daisytek name
10 September 2003 – Des Plaines (IL): United Stationers has no immediate plans to use the Daisytek name it acquired with its purchase of Daisytek Inc.
CEO Dick Gochnauer,“With regard to Daisytek, at this point in time, we have no plans to use the Daisytek name. It was bundled as part of our purchase. We bought their product compatibility software, URLs and customer and vendor information and we are in the process of collecting this information and will be developing our plans on how we intend to use the information in the upcoming Weeks.”
Daisytek Canada sale gets court approval
10 September 2003 – Ontario (CAN): The US bankruptcy court in Dallas has approved EMJ Data Systems’ $20 million purchase of Daisytek Canada and the deal is expected to close before the end of the month.
The deal is still subject to approval from the Canadian Competition Tribunal.
