Now you can print at bullet speed
Aug 2005
AT its launch last week,
Riso Kagaku Corp likened its new HC5000 printer to Japan’s Bullet
Train, with both offering great speed at an affordable cost.
‘The HC5000 is the world’s fastest sheet-fed full-colour printer, with
a print speed of up to 105 A4 pages a minute and a monthly duty cycle
of up to 250,000 pages,’ the company said.
It retails on a 5-year lease at $1,898 per month and has an estimated
life span of 6 million copies. Each ink cartridge replacement, which is
expected to print around 16,000 copies, costs $616.
The HC5000 uses two new Riso proprietary tech platforms – Forcejet and
ComColor Colour Management System. Forcejet drives the printer; the
ComColor ensures consistent reproduction of colour images. The printer
also comes with an optional scanner.
