Kentucky workers verified as Powerball winners
LOUISVILLE,
Ky. SEP 07 – Lottery officials say they’ve verified that a group in
Kentucky won the $61.5 million jackpot in last night’s Powerball
drawing.
The money will be divided among 22 current
and former employees of Nukote International in Bardstown, Ky. The
business makes cartridges for computer printers.Taking the option of a
lump sum instead of payments spread over a number of years would bring
$28.5 million. Before taxes, that’s nearly $1.3 million per person,
less than half what annuities would be.
