    Depot cuts carbon footprint
    DELRAY
    BEACH, Fla. -Office Depot Inc., the nation’s second-largest office
    products retailer, said Tuesday it had reduced carbon dioxide emissions
    at its North American sites by 10.1 percent.The Delray Beach-based
    company said that between 2005 and 2006, its 1,100 retail stores as
    well as warehouses and offices cut back on energy consumption through a
    variety of methods.It retrofitted stores with efficient lighting, added
    sensors that turn off lights in bathrooms when they’re not in use, set
    uniform temperatures for all stores and installed new heating,
    ventilation and air conditioning units.
