Max reveals sluggish Q3 sales
NOV.2005 – Itasca (IL): OfficeMax has posted its Q3 results, revealing a loss due to weak sales and lost revenue from the sale of its paper and forest products businesses.
The company reported a net loss of $3.9 million, or EPS of $0.07, compared to a profit of $62.2 million, or EPS of $0.64, a year earlier. Sales fell 37 per cent to $2.29 billion from $3.65 billion recorded in Q3 2004.
The company said that last years results included the Boise Building Solutions and Boise Paper Solutions segments, which it sold in October last year.
