Static Control Concludes Next Phase of Expansion into Asian Market
Zhuhai, China: June 2005 — Static Control Components has concluded the next phase of its expansion into the Asian market, having successfully completed the stringent regulatory requirements set forth by Republic of China administrators in Beijing and gained formal approval from provincial governors in the Zhuhai province to establish a Chinese subsidiary.SCC’s Zhuhai offices and distribution facilities have been in operation since September 2004 on a provisional basis, awaiting this much anticipated official clearance, prior to ramping up operations in support of the entire Southeast Asian marketplace.
Rob Leonard, SCC’s corporate vice president of sales and marketing, stated, “After having successfully completed this next phase of our long-term commitment to the Asian markets, we’re very well positioned to invest further resources and efforts in support of our Asian business partners and customers.”
The Southeast Asian recharger market has grown at a rate on par with the rest of the region’s economy, now representing a segment of the global recharger marketplace rivaling the European Union.
“We fundamentally believe that the Southeast Asian region–and China in particular–represents much of the future opportunity and technological progress for our industry,” stated Stuart Schulte, SCC’s managing director of the Zhuhai operations. “We’re very pleased to have the opportunity to extend SCC’s products and research and development resources in to what is the most rapidly growing regional market in the world.”
SCC’s U.S. based international sales team and Zhuhai based account executive Hong Chen will be overseeing customer contact for SCC’s China operations in Zhuhai. Together, the two will serve customers and business partners throughout all provinces of China, including Macao and Hong Kong, as well as markets in Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and other markets throughout the region.
