Samsung Expands Laser Printer Line
Las
Vegas – Samsung will introduce three new laser printers this week,
including one described as the company’s lost lightweight color laser
printer.
The CLP-300 color laser, shipping in February with a
suggested retail price $299.99, features four-page per minute (ppm)
color and 17 ppm black print speeds. Its basic print resolution is 600
by 600 dpi, but this can be enhanced to 2,400 by 600 dpi. Other
features include a 150-sheet paper tray and a 24,200 page per month
duty cycle.
The unit’s size, 10.4 inches high by 15.1 inches wide by
13.5 inches deep, required Samsung to replace its standard size ink
cartridges with small toner bottles, the company said.
Samsung’s
monochrome printer offering centers on the SCX-4200, a
three-in-one-unit featuring a printer, scanner and copier in a small
bundle measuring 7.7 inches high by 15.9 inches wide by 14.1 inches
deep. The unit has a 30-second warm-up period, a 20 ppm printing,
two-sided copying and can use a variety of paper sizes. The SCX-4200
has a toner-saver function that cuts toner usage by 40 percent and the
unit comes with Samsung’s SmartThru4Software that allows scan to
e-mail, scan to print and scan to file.
The SCX-4200 will ship in February with a $199.99 suggested retail price.
The
CLP 600 color laser printer series is being offered to small- and
medium-sized businesses. The unit has 21 ppm color- and black-print
speed with the first document completed in less than 20 seconds. It
features a 250-page paper tray, 100-sheet multipurpose tray and an
optional 500-sheet cassette. The CLP 600 has a 45,000 page per month
duty cycle and it is Ethernet and wireless networking ready.
It will ship in February with a $499.99 suggested retail price
