Samsung aims to be among top three laser printer brands in 2007

Electronics plans to launch 10-12 new laser printers in Taiwan in 2007
with a goal of becoming one of the top three brands in Taiwan,
according to Samsung Taiwan director SM Hong at a November 22 press
conference to formally introduce its CLP-300 color laser printer in
Taiwan.Currently in the Taiwan market for laser printers,
Hewlett-Packard and Epson are the top two brands with a combined market
share of 75-80%, followed by Fuji Xerox and Samsung each with 8-10%,
Samsung Taiwan indicated.In line with its goal for next year, Samsung
Taiwan has set up a team specifically to evaluate government open-bid
procurement and will ask Samsung to offer discount prices so as to win
as many as possible bids, Hong emphasized.Samsung has enhanced its
competitiveness in laser printers through large R&D investment,
having risen to be among the top two brands in both the US and Europe,
Hong pointed out.
