Staples snags DNC contract
The
Denver 2008 Host Committee named Staples Inc. as the office products
provider for the Democratic National Convention that will be in Denver
Aug. 25-28.Staples is asked to provide environmentally friendly office
supplies, furniture and equipment for the DNC, which is slated to bring
35,000 people to Denver.Staples Inc. is based in Framingham, Mass., and
has 12 stores along the Front Range.”This sponsorship is one way we are
making it easy for our customers to make a difference for the
environment — what we call “ecoeasy,” Mark Buckley, Staples vice
president of environmental affairs, said in a statement.
Staples sells 2,900 eco-friendly products.
“We
are very proud as a Host Committee to have an organization like Staples
as a gold-level sponsor,” Elbra Wedgeworth, president of the Denver
Host Committee, said in a statement. “With Staples’ growing presence in
the Rocky Mountain region and its commitment to environmentally
preferable products, this sponsorship continues to demonstrate how
important the Democratic National Convention is for Denver.”
