Xerox Offers HP Customers Lower Cost, Higher Yield with New Compatible Printing Cartridge
ROCHESTER,
N.Y.–Dec,2005–Xerox Corporation is offering Hewlett-Packard
customers a way to save money and be more productive with a new
printing cartridge that delivers a 36 percent lower cost-per-print than
existing HP cartridges and prints 10 percent more pages.
The latest
addition to Xerox’s “It’s Compatible” line of toner cartridges can be
used in HP’s newest black-and-white products, the HP LaserJet 4250 and
4350 printers, which are targeted to office workgroups and entry-level
production printing environments.
The Xerox cartridge contains a
microchip that supports HP “smart print” functions, enabling the
printer to automatically recognize the cartridge and indicate when
toner is low. It also indicates how many prints remain before the
cartridge needs to be replaced.
“The printing consumables industry
is competitive, and Xerox’s ability to keep pace with new product
introductions is a testament to the company’s continued innovation and
commitment to the ‘It’s Compatible’ line,” said John Shane, director,
Communication Supplies Consulting Service, at InfoTrends/CAP Ventures,
a market research and strategic consulting firm.
All Xerox “It’s
Compatible” products have a one-year, 100 percent performance guarantee
or the price of the cartridge will be refunded. Consistent with Xerox’s
commitment to responsible and environmental business practices, each
product box contains a pre-paid postage label that allows customers to
send used cartridges back to Xerox to be recycled.
Xerox offers
compatible cartridges for approximately 95 percent of HP’s LaserJet
black-and-white printers. The Xerox replacement cartridge for the HP
LaserJet 4250 and 4350 series is available Dec. 15 in the United States
and will be available in January in Canada and Europe.
