Oce Toner Production Plant Now Operational

Oce North America,Océ, a Canon Group company, has opened a new Toner Production plant at its Venlo headquarters. Throughput time has been reduced by more than 50% as the former Toner Batch Production facility has been transformed into a modern in-line Bulk Toner Production plant.

Moreover, the Océ Toner Production plant fulfills the latest requirements related to safety and the environment.

Océ produces and sells various types of black toner for a wide range of its printers. The more efficient production of toner will generate a cost reduction of 15%.

The new plant also increases production capacity, a prerequisite for fulfilling the anticipated growth in customer demand for black toner. Océ expects customer demand to further increase as a result of the integration of Océ and Canon.

The new production plant in the existing Océ toner facility is not only more productive than the former production line, but it is also more compact. The floor surface has been reduced from 4,400 to 3,000 square meters.

The total investment for the new Océ Toner Production plant amounted to approximately EUR 10 million. The green light was given in December 2008 and the production line has been taking shape over the last three years.

“The new Océ Toner Production plant puts us in even greater control of our production capacity and quality, thereby fulfilling our customer requirements,” said Ad Jansen, VP Manufacturing & Logistics Consumables at Océ during the official opening of the new facility. “We are ready for the future and ready to grow!”
