    Oem’s Sign Agreement to Recycle Empties in France

    Launched in October 2011, Cart’Touch is an initiative set up by thirteen manufacturers of printers, copiers and multifunction. Brother, Canon, Epson, HP, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark, OKI, Ricoh, Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba and Xerox join forces to raise public awareness of waste recycling.

    Ink: manufacturers undertake the sorting and recycling
    PARIS – A dozen manufacturers of ink cartridges for computers, representing over 80% market share in France, have joined forces to educate users to sort and recycle the cartridges and to empower the industry.

    According to a 2010 study, there are annually 81 million cartridges placed on the French market (70 million inkjet and toner 11 million), representing, once used, 19,400 tons of empty cartridges.

    Two-thirds are collected, especially toners, as inkjet cartridges, smaller, are often thrown away.
