Printer Owed $71K By Local Right-Winged Politician
Printer Says Alan Keyes Owes Him $71K
LEESBURG, Va. – A printing company claims groups led by conservative activist Alan Keyes, including the Border Fence Project, In Jesus’ Name and the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, owe it more than $71,000 for printing jobs.
MDI Imaging & Mail sued Declaration Alliance, which is composed of Keyes’ political action committees, in Loudoun County Court.The Dulles, Va.-based printer claims the groups submitted several purchase orders through an agent, but have "made only minor payments."
MDI claims the Declaration Alliance, aka The Declaration Foundation aka Border Fence Project aka In Jesus’ Name aka Alan Keyes for President aka Minuteman Civil Defense Corps aka Minuteman Political Action Committee owes it $71,600.02 for 15 printing jobs.
MDI is represented by James Campbell with Campbell Flannery, of Leesburg.
Keyes unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 1996 and 2000 and from the Constitution Party in 2008, and ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in Maryland and Illinois 1988, 1992, and 2004. He also has been a talk show host, an anti-abortion activist, and filed a lawsuit challenging Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president, calling Obama a "radical communist.
