of Xerox Corp.’s most prolific and key inventors has died. Christopher
Snelling, who retired from Xerox in 2000 after 44 years with the
company, died on Tuesday of cancer, according to the company.During his
time with Xerox, the Pittsford resident received 101 patents, and,
according to Xerox ,his work on image-on-image xerography is the basis
for the company’s iGen3 digital press.At the time of his retirement,
Mr. Snelling was a research fellow and manager of Xerox’s EXITE lab.He
was a graduate of Union College and the University of Rochester.
