    • HP Unveils Inkjet Devices for the Office

      HP announced new HP Officejet Pro and HP LaserJet printers – representing the largest upgrade to HP’s commercial printers in almost a decade. HP’s Officejet Pro X Series offers print speeds of 70 pages per minute, which "delivers up to twice the speed at up to half the printing cost compared with color laser printers in their class," HP’s statement said. HP PageWide Technology, the company’s next-generation inkjet platform, powers the new class of devices and "sets a new standard for small work team printing." HP also announced new laser devices as well as content management solutions designed to "redefine business and government printing by enabling customers to reduce costs, increase efficiency and digitize the office."

    • Xerox Europe Introduces New Remanufactured Cartridges for Non-Xerox Printers

      According to a recent press release, Xerox Europe introduced a new range of remanufactured print cartridges for non-Xerox printers, which are "ideal for managed print service providers," the company’s statement said. Called the Responsible line, the cartridges are designed for use with most OEM desktop laser printers from Brother, Canon, Epson, HP, IBM, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark, OKI and Panasonic. According to the statement, more than 90 percent of the original cartridge parts are reused, and the components are inspected using an ISO 9001-certified remanufacturing process. The press release touted that the Responsible cartridges will give end users at least 50 percent cost savings compared to OEM cartridges.
