Atman/pcRUSH Agrees to Consent Order in Canon USITC Complaint
On March 9, Canon and Atman, Inc. (DBA pcRUSH.com) filed a joint motion to terminate the El Segundo, Calif.-based online retailer as a respondent. This is the first respondent to agree to a consent order in the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) complaint filed on January 23, 2012, by Canon, which alleged that more than 30 companies – including Clover, Orink, Nukote and multiple dealers – violated section 336 of the Tariff Act of 1930, specifically the "projection at the end of the drum that enables … a detachable coupling."

Gartner Says Personal Cloud Will Replace the PC by 2014
The reign of the personal computer as the sole corporate access device is coming to a close, and by 2014, the personal cloud will replace the personal computer at the center of users’ digital lives, according to Gartner, Inc. Gartner analysts said the personal cloud will begin a new era that will provide users with a new level of flexibility with the devices they use for daily activities while leveraging the strengths of each device, ultimately enabling greater user satisfaction and productivity. However, it will require enterprises to fundamentally rethink how they deliver applications and services to users.

Canon Launches Five New Devices for Midvolume Customers
Canon U.S.A. Inc. announced the imageCLASS D1370, D1350, D1320 multifunction digital copiers; the imageCLASS LBP6670dn laser printer and the FAXPHONE L100 as new additions to the company’s lineup. Particularly ideal for midvolume office environments, these five additions "offer a compelling blend of speed and functionality, ideal for busy offices," the company’s statement said.

European Printing Industry Research Shows More Online Pages Printed, Investment in Color Devices
More than 200 European respondents across 14 different countries were polled by InfoTrends to get an update on adoption and usage of hardware, software and services in addition to investment plans and business strategy decisions. Due to the results, the firm expects print volumes that originate online to grow dramatically in the course of the next two years, from 10 percent to 18 percent by 2014. Additionally, respondents noted that investment plans for digital color printing equipment top the list of planned investments.
