Static Control Announces Patented Extended Yield Chip Technology Partnership with ECi
First-ever extended-yield tracking in non-OEM cartridges changes how MPS dealers profit in supplies management

Sanford, N.C. – (November 11, 2015) – Static Control, along with ECi Software Solutions, have announced jointly the worldwide availability of their technology for tracking the true value of aftermarket extended yield toner cartridges. ECi’s market-leading FMAudit® managed print services solution and Static Control have embarked in an exclusive partnership to provide the offering to customers using Static Control’s patented extended yield chip technology and FMAudit’s Central v4.0, featuring patent-pending tracking technology.

”As the imaging industry’s leader in chip technology, it was great to partner with another industry leader to bring this solution to market,” said Josh Braendle, MPS Business Manager at Static Control. “Developing this solution like an OEM provides dealers greater results to the bottom line, while increasing data analytics.”

Without this unique solution, a printer cannot distinguish between OEM or aftermarket extended yield toner cartridges. As such, end users are notified prematurely to replace the cartridge, often discarding upwards of 50% of the remaining toner. In their attempt to save money on supply costs, dealers end up paying more and often don’t have the data to know why.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to work with Static Control to deliver on the promise of remanufactured extended yield cartridges lowering supply costs.” said Kevin Tetu, President of FMAudit. “Finding a solution to this fundamental problem was very important to us.”

The technology was designed to mitigate false alerting for non-OEM extended-yield toner cartridges and allow dealers the opportunity to realize the full return on investment of these cartridges. Static Control has developed proprietary chips specific to this objective that are exclusively compatible with FMAudit software. In turn, FMAudit has developed an algorithm to identify the true toner depletion of the extended-yield toner and usage in these cartridges, resulting in accurate supply notifications and a lower-than-OEM per-page supply cost.
