Telefonica Chile Acquires Hp Data Centre For $10M
Telefonica Chile has acquired a data centre from Hewlett Packard (HP) for around USD 10 million with a view to strengthening its position in the business segment, reports local daily Diario Financiero. The company, which operates under the Movistar brand in Chile, subsequently confirmed the purchase without giving further details. Telefonica Chile's total customer base at the end of September came to 13.4 million, down 1.5 percent year on year, but the business unit grew 9.2 year on year thanks above all to increasing data service revenues.
