    Tonnex Opens New Sydney Australia Warehouse

    TOTTENHAM, VIC – September 13, 2013 – After originally opening their Sydney office in early 2008, Tonnex International have now re-located for the opening of an office & warehouse in Sydney’s west.

    This Seven Hills premises now gives Tonnex 3 warehouses; Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and according to Director, George Kozman, this new Sydney warehouse is a key facility for their national operation. “We have a strong base of customers in NSW, particularly Sydney, which we have been servicing predominately from our Melbourne warehouse. However, to be able to assist our customers with their same day delivery requirements we needed to have a warehouse here”.

    With growth in this market high on the agenda for Tonnex, being able to provide same day delivery to the Greater Sydney area and next day delivery to most regional NSW locations will be of great significance in achieving this objective. 

    To maximise efficiency in the dispatch process, Tonnex had the warehouse layout and design specifically tailored to the nature of their operation. “Over the course of the last few years we have had some key staff, myself included, spend time with various leading companies in comparable industries to see how they operate their warehousing function so that we can ensure that our methodology,

    Systems and future plans are consistent with the growing demands in the logistics field. This exercise has been invaluable in us making the right decisions and plans moving forward and has definitely played a key role in the decisions we made for Sydney” said Kozman.

    This third warehouse, according to Kozman, will also allow for efficiency gains within Tonnex’s existing Melbourne & Brisbane locations. “Being able to segment our national delivery requirements across these 3 warehouses allows us to operate smarter. We can now better coordinate our courier runs, our stock requirements and our incoming deliveries based on the needs of customers relevant to each warehouse. Therefore, we expect to be able to improve on our service to customers nationally as a result.
