GSA awards imaging services contract

The General Services Administration has awarded blanket purchase agreements to 10 imaging equipment service providers as part of its strategic sourcing efforts.
GSA awarded agreements to AMB Federal, CTI, Merdian, Omni FaxPlus, PrinTree, Canon, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark and Ricoh, according to the agency.
This is the first time the agency has offered imaging services as part of a BPA. a purchasing instrument that leverages high-volume business to secure price discounts.
Rather than multiple, disparate approaches across an organization, agencies now can better manage their entire print fleet in a more consolidated way, reducing the number of stand-alone contracts, said Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Tom Sharpe in a statement.
He said the lower prices will not only come from the contract terms but also by giving agencies greater insight into their printing behavior which will allow agencies to make better decisions on future purchases.
