U.S. GSA Picks 21 Exlusive Vendors for New Office Supplies Contract

The General Services Administration has awarded 21 contractors positions on the third iteration of a government-wide office products contract vehicle.

GSA said Tuesday that 20 of the awardees under the agency’s Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative for Office Supplies program are small companies.

The agency expects FSSI OS3 to save the government more than $90 million in administrative costs a year.

“Programs such as these will help save taxpayer dollars and drive necessary spending on these type of products to our small business partners, making a real positive impact on agency budgets and improving the bottom line for selected small businesses,” said Tom Sharpe, commissioner of GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service.

The initiative’s predecessor contract generated total savings of more than $370 million and 75 percent of OS2 contract awards went to small businesses, according to GSA.
