US BSA Seeks Definition For Remanufactured Ink and Toner Cartridges By Andy Braithwaite
The Business Solutions Association (BSA) has released a draft industry standard for the definition of remanufactured ink and toner cartridges.
There is no standard in the US that defines a remanufactured printer or copier cartridge, which BSA said is confusing consumers when trying to differentiate between remanufactured products and non-OEM newly built cartridges.
BSA is asking the industry and the general public for their input by commenting on the proposed standards, suggesting amendments and improvements where appropriate.
The closing date for receiving comments is 22 October and BSA is hoping that the final document will be released during or shortly after its annual meeting in Florida at the end of that month.
The proposed standard can be accessed here and BSA has also provided a comment form.
