Utec Int Ready To Defend Itself Vs Canons Infringement Allegation
UNION TECHNOLOGY INTERNATIONAL (M.C.O.) CO. LTD. AND ITS RELATED COMPANIES TO DEFEND AGAINST CANON’S ALLEGATIONS OF PATENT INFRINGEMENT

10th February, 2014 – Union Technology International (M.C.O.) Co. Ltd. has learned that it and four of its related companies, including Print-Rite N.A., Inc. ("the Companies), have been named in a lawsuit filed by Canon on January 29, 2014, in the United States District Court in the Southern District of New York. The suit alleges that certain aftermarket printer cartridges sold by the Companies infringe patents owned by Canon.  The Companies are also aware that some of their customers for the accused aftermarket cartridges have also been sued and/or received letters from Canon accusing them of infringing Canons patents.

A basic principle of the Companies business is respect for the valid intellectual property rights of others, and the Companies and their counsel will respond to Canons allegations accordingly. In the meantime, the Companies customers can be assured that the Companies stand behind all of the products they sell, and that any resolution of the dispute with Canon will address Canons allegations against the Companies customers concerning the Companies cartridges.
