    Epson President Minoru Usui to Give Opening Keynote at IFA 2012

    -Berlin, Germany, August  2012 -Seiko Epson Corporation  today announced that president Minoru Usui would give the opening keynote speech at IFA 2012. In his speech, which is entitled "Becoming Indispensable in a Changing World," Usui will outline some of the challenges facing technology companies, and the importance of maintaining core values while moving with the times. He will discuss his vision of implementing new market solutions based on the development of Epson’s core technologies, including a focus on wearable products.

    Held in Berlin, Germany, from August 31 to September 5, IFA is the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances. In addition to the keynote speech by President Usui, Epson plans to showcase its new range of projectors for home cinema, entertainment and gaming as well as demonstrating its range of ultra-compact home inkjet printers.

    Epson’s new products can be seen at IFA Hall 21, Booth 103 on the IFA show floor. The keynote speech is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM Central European Time on August 31.

    Epson Donates Php 1 Million for Monsoon Relief Efforts

    – MANILA, Philippines, August 17, 2012 – Epson Precision (Philippines) Inc., Philippine Epson Optical Inc., Epson Philippines Corporation and Seiko Epson Corporation have announced the donation of Php 1 million (approx. US$23,800) to assist Filipino families affected by the torrential monsoon rains that caused flooding in Manila and surrounding provinces from the end of July. The money was donated through Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), a local NPO.

    In addition to the donation, employees from the three local Epson companies cooperated with PBSP in the distribution of relief goods to the affected areas.

    Epson wishes to extend its sympathy to the affected families, and hopes for the speedy recovery of the areas damaged by the disaster.
