Analysis released today by IT research company CONTEXT, shows that unit sales of Wireless all-in-one (AIO) Inkjet Printers across Western European distribution*

increased by +9% year-on-year in 2012. Wireless all-in-ones outperformed the overall all-in-one Inkjet Printers segment, which declined by -14% over the same period.

The report highlights sales growth for Wireless all-in-ones across the board in the UK, in Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and France. While most countries saw an increase in annual sales, the UK market remained flat. Germany saw strongest sales with a 9% increase year-on-year.

“The report highlights demand of wireless all-in-ones across homes and small offices due to the flexibility of where printers can be placed while also allowing multiple devices to connect without the need for unruly cables”, said Matthew Fuller, senior research analyst at CONTEXT.

HP remains market leader of Wireless AIO Inkjets, despite the company’s market share falling by almost ten percentage points; and dropping below the 50% mark in the process. Epson and Canon, however, both saw market growth for the year with Epson ending in second position with a quarter share of the market, while third placed Canon closed the year with a share of one tenth.
