DIT SETS UP NIS 5M TONER CTGS RECYCLING PLANT
DIT Export Import Co. Inc., which owns the American Spirit brand, is setting up a plant for recycling ink heads and toner cartridges on a one-dunam (quarter-acre) lot at Sha’ar Hagai at an investment of NIS 5 million. The plant will initially employ 35 people and have a production capacity of 15,000 ink heads and 5,000 toner cartridges a month.

DIT plans to win a quarter of Israel’s ink cartridge market, estimated at NIS 550 million a year, within two years. The business sector accounts for 65% of the market.

DIT, owned by Doron Aroussi, was founded in the US in 1992. It markets computers, printers, and peripherals. The company launched activity in Israel in 1998, importing computers and peripherals, which were marketed to institutions, stores, and directly to customers via the Internet.

DIT had a turnover of NIS 30 million in 2004. Aroussi predicts that the plant will boost the company’s turnover to NIS 50 million in 2005.
