Dell Inc.’s new free recycling program for U.S. customers will be available online Friday at http://www.dell4me.com/recycling, the company announced today.Dell Inc.
announced earlier this year that it is increasing its recycling goals and plans to provide free recycling of any Dell-branded product for consumers the world over. The initiative is expected to go global next month.In the past, the Round Rock-based computer behemoth has offered consumers no-charge recycling of any brand of used computer or printer, but only if they bought a new Dell computer or printer. This service included home pick-up of the used computer at no charge.Under its new global recycling policy launching Friday, Dell will provide customers recycling of any Dell-branded product, regardless of whether a replacement product is purchased.Dell sells more systems globally than any computer company. Company revenue for the past four quarters totaled about $56.7 billion.
