Truck overturned, leaked ink, on I80 in Blakeslee
January
2007,An overturned tractor-trailer spilled part of its cargo Friday
morning, but fortunately, the mess wasn’t as big as it could have
been. The truck was apparently trying to exit Interstate 80 at Exit 284
– Blakeslee when it overturned, spilling part of its cargo of printer’s
ink into the grassy median and raising concerns about the drain that is
in the median. Tobyhanna Township
workers responded to the spill and constructed a dam around the drain
to keep the ink from getting to the drain. The Monroe County Office of
Emergency Services responded and confirmed that the ink was not
water-soluble and therefore not a problem.
