Headline: Six month add on for Depot

Office Depot has extended its ink and toner recycling programme by six months and it will now run until 1 March 2004.

The programme offers customers one free ream of Depot’s EnviroCopy recycled paper in return for used ink and toner cartridges.

Depot and other businesses offering recycled inkjet and toner cartridges are locked in a battle for empties – the lifeblood of the market. (see ‘empty promise’, OPI September 2003, page 37)

Alex Weatherall, Depot VP of office supply and merchandising, said: “We’re committed to implementing initiatives that expand the market for recycled products.” Depot has recycled more than one million cartridges since the programme began in January.
