123inkt Makes Statement on Explosion and Fire at Spain Location.
limited damage thanks to well-functioning safety system.
On Wednesday, January 8, an explosion occurred in our factory during the recycling of cartridges, followed by a fire breaking out in stored materials on the outdoor premises. The exact cause of the explosion is still under investigation.

Thanks to our extensive safety measures and well-functioning safety systems, such as venting valves, the explosion was directed outward, preventing significant damage inside. However, this led to a fire in stored materials outside, which was extinguished by the fire brigade.

The safety of our employees is always our highest priority. All employees were immediately evacuated, and only one employee sustained minor injuries. He was treated for minor burns by medical personnel and was able to return home safely afterward. The remaining employees were unharmed.

The authorities involved, including the fire brigade, police, and labor inspectorate, have positively assessed the effectiveness of our preventive measures and classified the incident as an accident. Thanks to our safety and extraction systems, the situation was effectively brought under control, preventing further damage.

We are currently evaluating the necessary actions to swiftly return to full operational capacity. Naturally, we will keep our customers informed throughout this process. At the same time, we remain committed to upholding the highest safety standards and staying vigilant to prevent such incidents in the future.
