123inkt.nl facilitates a quick restart of Staples Benelux.
Almere, October 30, 2023. The e-commerce company 123inkt.nl has reached an agreement on the acquisition of Staples Benelux. This means that the restart of Staples, based in Almere, is a fact. The most important part of the employment has now been secured and customers will be supplied again.
The strategic acquisition enriches 123inkt.nl’s knowledge in the office supplies market, allowing the organization to take the next step in realizing its growth ambitions. Gerben Kreuning, owner and founder of 123inkt.nl: “As a total supplier of office supplies, facility products and furniture for business customers, Staples is a valuable addition to our organization and will certainly contribute to our further growth and development. We will use the coming months to ensure that Staples is properly integrated into our organization.”
Staples Benelux’s business activities will be started immediately, so that Staples customers can again order via the existing links and the website. Delivering orders is therefore possible again.
Staples supplies more than 20,000 office and consumables for the business market every day. The company originally emerged from a paper business, founded by George Hendrik Bührmann in 1886. Since then, there have been several acquisitions and mergers, with the company continuing under the name Corporate Express in 2007. The takeover by Staples followed in 2008.

The transaction is still subject to approval from the ACM.
