Amazon has officially expanded its “Amazon Now” ultra-fast delivery service nationwide, bringing both same-day and 30-minute delivery to dozens of major U.S. cities as the company intensifies its battle with rivals like Walmart, DoorDash, and Instacart. Originally tested in Seattle and Philadelphia, the service now offers rapid delivery of groceries, household essentials, medicines, and electronics through small neighborhood fulfillment hubs powered by Amazon Flex drivers. Prime members pay a reduced delivery fee while non-members face higher charges, as Amazon bets consumers will increasingly pay for instant and same-day convenience. CEO Andy Jassy has positioned the service as part of Amazon’s broader strategy to dominate “sub-same-day” retail logistics, combining AI-powered inventory systems, hyperlocal warehouses, and faster fulfillment to reshape online shopping expectations across America.
