AML IP, LLC Sues Staples, Inc. for Patent Infringement.
Midland, TXโOctober 28, 2024โAML IP, LLC, a technology firm based in Texas, has filed a lawsuit against Staples, Inc., claiming infringement of its U.S. Patent No. 7,177,838, referred to as the โโ838 patent.โ The suit was filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Midland/Odessa Division, under Civil Action No. 7:24-cv-00270.

The complaint alleges that Staples knowingly introduced products that violate AMLโs patented methods into the market, asserting that these products have been sold throughout Texas, including in Midland.
Headquartered in Austin, AML focuses on innovative technology solutions and emphasizes the need to protect intellectual property rights to encourage competition and innovation. โIntellectual property is the lifeblood of innovation,โ stated Sarah Thompson, AMLโs lead attorney. โWe are committed to defending our rights and believe the evidence will show that Staples infringed on our patent.โ
Staples, a Delaware-based corporation with a business presence in Midland, has not yet commented on the allegations. As the case progresses, it is drawing attention from the technology sector, highlighting the challenges smaller companies face in safeguarding their innovations against larger corporations.
