Another SCC UK Auditor-Accountant Quits
Due to Forced Labor From China Supply Chain.
Static Control, a major supplier of aftermarket imaging products for printers and copiers, is facing a crisis in its UK branch after its 2nd auditor in a year, BDO LLP, resigned over ethical concerns. Previously Grant Thornton UK LLP, resigned in March 2023. Both auditors cited evidence of forced labor in the company’s supply chain, particularly from the Xinjiang region of China, where widespread human rights abuses have been documented.
Forced labor is a serious violation of human rights that involves coercing people to work against their will, often in harsh and unsafe conditions and with little or no pay. The auditor’s resignation highlights the gravity of the accusations and the growing pressure on companies to ensure ethical labor practices in their global supply chains.
