**Aussie Cartridge Refill System Nominated for Global Award**
A patented cartridge refill system developed by the Australian company Circular has been named a finalist in the Sustainable Packaging Awards organized by Packaging Europe. The winners will be announced at the Sustainable Packaging Summit in Amsterdam on November 12.

Circular’s innovative cartridge refill technology is rooted in circular economy principles—Reduce, Reuse, Repair, and Recycle—while also emphasizing behavioral change through convenience, intuitiveness, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness.

The company’s versatile Cartridge Refill System offers brands and consumers the option to choose between ultralight refills for optimal recycling or heavyweight refills for wash-and-return systems—or even a combination of both.

The system’s innovation lies in the synergistic relationship between a durable reusable dispenser and ultra-lightweight refills made from recycled PET and HDPE. This design minimizes plastic use and aligns with the goals of the circular economy, maximizing material recovery.

According to Circular, the reusable dispenser is built for longevity, with a lifespan of up to 10 years, while the ultra-lightweight refills are crafted from 100% recycled materials.

The refill system is designed for easy swapping across a variety of personal and home care products, featuring a simple ‘lock and load’ mechanism that allows for a quick, mess-free refill in just three seconds.

Additionally, the dispenser is designed for easy consumer repairs, extending its lifespan and reducing waste.

From a marketing perspective, this system provides brands facing strict packaging design regulations with the flexibility to customize dispensers and refills, helping to maintain brand identity and engage consumers.

The tapered refill design maximizes liquid delivery, reducing waste and enhancing user satisfaction while ensuring better material recoverability at the end of the product’s life.

“With the potential to eliminate or reduce plastic waste and emissions by over 80%, this system champions a dual approach to the circular economy that caters to diverse market needs,” said CEO and founder Joel Wells.

“Built for adaptability, it’s future-proof and ready to integrate new materials and technologies, making it a versatile solution for sustainable packaging now and in the future.

Single use is obsolete. Cartridge refills represent the future.”
