Ricoh USA is facing another nationwide class-action lawsuit over allegations that it improperly increased per-page service charges for printing equipment beyond contractual limits. In PX-Royal Press, Inc. v. Ricoh USA, Inc., filed in New York, the plaintiff alleges that Ricoh raised maintenance rates by 15% in 2020 and 25% annually from 2021 through 2023, despite agreements allegedly limiting annual increases to 10%. The complaint asserts breach of contract, deceptive business practices and other claims, seeking to represent customers nationwide with similar contractual protections. The new case follows a separate California class-action lawsuit involving similar allegations against Ricoh, known as the Mike the Printer case. On June 5, 2026, Tonernews.com reported that more than 600 Ricoh customers could join the certified nationwide class action in that case, intensifying scrutiny of Ricoh’s service pricing and billing practices. The latest lawsuit raises further questions about whether Ricoh customers have been charged maintenance fees exceeding their contractual limits. Both cases highlight the importance of reviewing copier and printer service agreements, annual price adjustments and invoices. The allegations in the New York case have not been proven in court.
