Canon’s IP Enforcement Leads to Removal
of Counterfeit Chinese Toner Cartridge from Coupang.com in South Korea. June 5, 2024. Canon Inc. recently filed complaints with the Coupang Credibility Management Center, seeking the removal of specific toner cartridge product offerings from the Coupang platform in Korea. The complaints alleged that these cartridges infringed Canon’s Korean Patent No. 10-2172796. Coupang accepted Canon’s complaints and promptly suspended the product offerings. As of the announcement date, the identified cartridges were no longer available on Coupang’s platform. Canon remains committed to enforcing its intellectual property rights and appreciates Coupang’s support in protecting its IP1.
The following brands and models were affected: TONER PLUS (Manufacturer: Zhuhai Jialianxin Imaging Products Co., Ltd)
Canon’s commitment to protecting its IP rights underscores the importance of addressing patent infringement in the e-commerce space.
