The Chinese are sitting on thousands of new compatibles in inventory in the US for the latest HP model toner. They are waiting for a compatible chip to be released or for an empty to be scavenged for the spent chip to attach to their inventory, in the meantime they are removing the OEM chips from the virgin empties that they can find and thus destroy What’s left of the core from being usable or remanufactured.

We have it from a confidential source that a well-known China toner cloner located in Southern California along with Ninestar are taking the chips off virgin empty toners and putting them on their Chinese new built compatibles. As of 2020 you could still take the used HP chip off their toner cartridges with tweezers but around last October HP started gluing or sonic welding the chip to the housing making so you had to chisel the chip out and up before tweezing. Now out of the blue, this well-known China toner cloner located in Southern California along with Ninestar as well as S.W. and others are offering the chip-less new compatible toners along with instruction sheets and tools on how to remove HP’s OEM Chip from the virgin empty core. (E-fliers)

In January 2021, our confidential source started seeing HP gluing the overhang of the chip housing to the chip making it Very Difficult to be removed. You Actually Have to cut out the housing on 3 side and chisel to get the chip off. All of these measures HP has taken are good for US remanufacturing since remanufactures can now use the HP virgin toner and have no need to remove the chip, but the Chinese new system of removing the chip now completely destroys the empty toner core from being usable or remanufactured which likely guarantees it ends up in the landfill since the core is now damaged beyond repair.

    The Solution!
Now this latest info coming from Chinese toner cloners in our industry should come as no surprise. Lying stealing and cheating is obviously second nature to them, and AGAIN shows how careless they are in doing business the right way for the environment. THE SOLUTION: Help Us Close the LoopKnow Where It Goes! Don’t do business with any Chinese toner cloner in the industry and please don’t sell them your empty toner cores. Stay away from them if you care about the environment. Stay away from them if you value human rights, just stay away from them at all costs.
