Clover Pres. Speaks About the Problems Caused by Chinese Newbuilt Cartridges, Criticizes Implementation Deficit.
Eric Martin, President at Clover Technologies, criticizes the lack of enforcement in Europe for compatible toner cartridges.
In a detailed interview with BusinessPartner, the Clover boss spoke in detail about the problems caused by newbuilt cartridges in the market. Even end customers of government agencies would place higher sustainability requirements on their suppliers, but “without promoting and enforcing the possibility of using recycled products, even in public tenders, where the government could set guidelines and limits for this,” said Martin im Interview. The authorities would generally fail to enforce health, safety and regulatory compliance, which is a major problem for OEM manufacturers as well as for toner cartridge remanufacturers. There are still products on the market that are “made from a safety, are not legal from a chemical point of view, ”says Martin. “Only customs can solve this.”
He was nevertheless confident about the market development in the European market: “The topic of sustainability continues to dominate headlines and corporate agendas and will continue to gain momentum in the coming years.”
