Epson has introduced a new subscription service called ReadyPrint MAX, offering a fresh twist on home printing. For just $7.99 per month, users can rent an Epson EcoTank printer, receive automatic ink deliveries, and print up to 50 pages per month—all included in the plan.
This service aims to eliminate the common headaches of printer ownership, such as surprise ink costs and maintenance hassles. The EcoTank printer, known for its refillable ink system, remains Epson’s property, and the company handles all upkeep and ink replacements remotely.
If users exceed the 50-page monthly limit, they can pay extra for additional pages. Epson also offers higher-tier plans for those who need more frequent printing.
ReadyPrint MAX targets home users and small businesses looking for predictable printing costs and a worry-free experience. It’s a shift toward the “hardware-as-a-service” model, already popular in industries like smartphones and software. With this move, Epson joins a growing trend of subscription-based printing, challenging rivals like HP and Canon with a model that bundles both ink and printer hardware.
