Critical Security Vulnerabilities Found in Most HP Printers—Update Now!
HP’s Universal Printer Driver Series, used by most HP printer models, contains serious security flaws that could put your system at risk. These vulnerabilities affect the PCL 6 and PostScript versions, allowing attackers to inject and execute malicious code.

HP has released updates to address these issues, and they should be installed immediately.

The vulnerabilities arise from third-party components within the drivers,
and they are classified as critical and high-risk:

    CVE-2017-12652 (Arbitrary Code Execution)
    CVE-2022-2068 (Arbitrary Code Execution)
    CVE-2023-45853 (Information Disclosure)
    CVE-2020-14152 (Denial of Service)

Because the Universal Print Drivers support a wide range of HP printer models, these flaws are widespread. You can check whether your printer is affected by referring to HP’s list.

Update Your HP Printer Drivers ASAP
Any version older than 7.3.0.25919 is vulnerable and should be updated immediately. The latest drivers can be downloaded from HP’s website.

After updating, remember to manually remove any old printer entries, as they won’t be automatically deleted. Administrators should also verify that only the most recent drivers are in use.
