    Armor Print Solutions has acquired Clover’s Freecolor brand and announces further investments in manufacturing and distribution in Europe.

    After Clover Imaging’s withdrawal from the European market, Armor acquired the Clover brand Freecolor. The brand is well established in the DACH region and some customers want to remain loyal to the brand. With this in mind, Armor Print Solutions will continue to offer remanufactured cartridges under the Freecolor brand. The same level of quality should be maintained, according to Armor. In order to better serve the markets in the DACH region, the company has set up a new logistics center in the Netherlands, near the German-Dutch border. From there, customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be supplied in the future.

    As the company further reports, production capacity is to be increased by 40 percent (Armor produces at two locations in Morocco and Poland) and the sales teams are to be strengthened. A total of five to ten million euros are to be invested. Referring to the continuation of the Freecolor brand, Gerwald van der Gijp, Vice President & Managing Director of Armor Print Solutions, explains: “We offer services to ensure continuity of supply.” Armor Print Solutions offers customers the option of remanufactured to use cartridges instead of new ones. Armor is concentrating on the markets in Europe and Africa and wants to be, literally, “the backbone of the European market for cartridges and printers”.

    “The printing sector requires investments in research and development, as well as in production units, in services and in distribution in order to keep costs down and be competitive,” adds Hubert de Boisredon, CEO of the Armor Group. Many small companies in the industry do not have the critical size to thrive. Armor’s goal is therefore to seize opportunities for alliances or acquisitions in order to develop further. According to Boisredon, neither the corona pandemic nor the war in Ukraine would have a negative impact on business. Nonetheless, Armor faces challenges, such as meeting the “increasingly complex deliveries across Europe and managing the backlog of component deliveries.” For this reason, the company decided to increase stocks,
