Warning: G&G Toners for Canon and HP Are Not OEM Authorized.
G&G, a brand under China’s Ninestar Corporation, has recently introduced (see below) new replacement toner cartridges for Canon and HP printers. However, these products are not authorized or endorsed by either Canon or HP. This lack of authorization raises concerns regarding potential infringement of intellectual property rights and the quality of the cartridges.
In the past, Ninestar has faced legal challenges from Canon over alleged patent infringements. In 2021, a lawsuit was settled with Ninestar agreeing to cease the sale of certain toner cartridges in the U.S. that were accused of infringing Canon’s patents
Additionally, HP has identified Ninestar’s replication of its TerraJet toner technology as unauthorized, labeling these products as counterfeit and in violation of HP’s intellectual property rights .
Consumers should be aware that using unauthorized toner cartridges can lead to several issues, including poor print quality, potential damage to printers, and the voiding of manufacturer warranties. Both Canon and HP advise customers to use genuine or authorized supplies to ensure optimal performance and to protect their devices.
For those considering alternative toner options, it’s crucial to verify the authenticity and authorization of the products to avoid potential risks associated with counterfeit or unauthorized cartridges.
