Indonesia is aggressively courtingEpson to expand exports of printers, imaging equipment, and other electronics manufactured in the country, as Trade Minister Budi Santoso met with Epson executives to promote the use of Indonesia’s growing network of international trade agreements. With 20 active free trade agreements and government support aimed at opening new markets in Africa, the Middle East, and beyond, Jakarta is positioning itself as a low-cost manufacturing and export hub for the global print industry. The move could strengthen Epson’s worldwide supply chain while increasing competition for printer and consumables manufacturers operating in other regions, as Indonesia seeks to become an even bigger player in the global imaging and printing market.
