International Paper has officially broken ground on a new sustainable packaging facility in Rankin County, Mississippi, as the company continues expanding its corrugated packaging operations across the United States. The $225 million project will feature a state-of-the-art 468,000-square-foot manufacturing plant designed to serve customers throughout the Mid-South region with advanced, environmentally focused packaging solutions. Located in Brandon, Mississippi, the new facility is expected to create approximately 150 jobs while improving production efficiency, automation, and supply chain capabilities. International Paper said the investment reflects growing demand for sustainable corrugated packaging in industries including e-commerce, food distribution, and consumer goods. Construction is expected to continue through 2026, with the facility scheduled to begin operations in late 2027, further strengthening International Paper’s position in the North American packaging market.
