Ricoh is making a major investment in the future of industrial inkjet printing, announcing plans to construct a new manufacturing facility at its Atsugi Manufacturing Site in Kanagawa, Japan. Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2026, with completion planned for the first half of fiscal 2028. The approximately 39,000-square-meter facility will manufacture Ricoh’s advanced inkjet heads and is designed to ultimately increase production capacity to more than double current levels. Ricoh says the expansion is aimed at growing demand for industrial inkjet applications including signage and display graphics, labels, packaging and textiles, while also supporting emerging functional-printing applications in areas such as electronics, batteries and automotive coatings. The new factory will incorporate automation, robotics, AI and digital manufacturing technologies, underscoring Ricoh’s strategy to expand its position in the rapidly evolving industrial inkjet printing market.
