Ricoh Q1 Profit Soars on China Sale, U.S. Tariff Refunds as Company Secures Full Ownership of Pentax Brand. Ricoh reported a strong start to fiscal 2026, with April–June net profit surging 3.8 times year-over-year to ¥37 billion ($236 million) as consolidated revenue climbed 8.4% to ¥629.8 billion ($4.0 billion). However, much of the earnings boost came from one-time gains, including a ¥17.8 billion ($114 million) profit from the sale of a Chinese subsidiary and approximately ¥15 billion ($96 million) in U.S. tariff refunds, while the company maintained its full-year forecast of ¥2.7 trillion in revenue and ¥62 billion in net profit. In separate news, Ricoh also officially became the owner of the Pentax trademark after licensing the iconic camera brand from Hoya for more than 15 years, giving the company complete control over Pentax branding and strengthening its long-term commitment to the DSLR and imaging market. Together, the announcements highlight Ricoh’s continued financial resilience and strategic focus on both its global office technology business and its historic camera division.
