HP Agrees to $4 Million Settlement in Misleading Pricing Class Action. HP has agreed to a $4 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging that the company misrepresented discounts on its website, leading consumers to believe they were receiving better deals than they were.
The class action benefits consumers who bought HP desktop computers, laptops, mice, and keyboards at a discounted price from HPโs website between June 5, 2021, and October 28, 2024. The lawsuit claims that HPโs advertised discounts were misleading, resulting in consumers paying more than they should have for these products.
While HP denies any wrongdoing, the company has agreed to the settlement to avoid further legal costs.
Under the terms of the settlement, affected consumers can receive cash payments ranging from $10 to $100, depending on the type of product purchased and the quantity bought. For example, those who purchased an HP ENVY Desktop TE020250xt may receive up to $100, while individuals who bought an HP X3000 G2 Wireless Mouse could get $10.
Payment amounts may be adjusted pro rata, depending on the number of claims submitted
Class members must submit a valid claim form by June 9, 2025, to receive their share of the settlement.
