HP CEO’s Salary for 2024: Enough to Buy Over
a Quarter-Million Toner Cartridges – Is This Justified?
HP’s CEO Enrique Lores has seen a slight drop in his total compensation for fiscal year 2024, coming in at $19.36 million, down from $19.46 million in 2023. While that may seem like a modest reduction of $98,000, for most people it would still be a sum worth celebrating. His base salary rose by $100,000 to $1.4 million, with additional stock awards amounting to $15.29 million, and non-equity incentives at $2.38 million. Security, travel, and other perks accounted for $290,419.
In terms of toner cartridges, Lores’ pay represents 261,658 HP 206 printer units at the current price of $73 per cartridge. This number has dropped slightly from last year’s 270,315 cartridges, largely due to price increases in the ink market. HP’s fiscal results showed revenue of $53.6 billion for 2024, with a slight dip of 0.3%, primarily due to declines in consumer PC sales and commercial printing hardware.
The average HP employee earned a median salary of $69,571, an increase from last year’s $67,816. In other executive news, CFO Karen Parkhill earned $15.5 million, while Printing and Imaging boss Tuan Tran and Personal Systems chief Alex Cho took home $7.56 million and $7.13 million, respectively.
